ABOUT MARKSMAN

Before founding Marksman Tax & Consulting, I worked my way from tax associate to senior tax accountant and tax manager, supporting business owners across a wide range of industries.

During my 10+ years of tax experience, I saw the same issues surface again and again: poor communication, unclear scope, surprise bills, unnecessary complexity, and clients being passed between staff instead of working with someone who truly understood their business.

Marksman was built as a direct response to that experience.

I work directly with every client from start to finish.

There are no handoffs, no junior staff, and no confusion about who’s responsible for the work. The focus is on clear communication, practical guidance, and tax work that’s done carefully and explained plainly.

 

Based in the Midwest and serving clients virtually, I specialize in working with small business owners across a variety of industries who want modern systems without losing the human side of the work.

I understand that business decisions don’t happen in a vacuum, and that taxes affect not just the business itself, but the people and families behind it. I grew up in the Midwest. My mother is a fourth-generation doctor, so it surprised more than a few people when I chose accounting instead (though marrying a doctor kept the family tradition mostly intact).

What has remained consistent is the emphasis on care, responsibility, and long-term thinking — values that continue to guide how I approach tax work and client relationships.
